Welcome to the Village
Tucked into the river village of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Sparrow House is a historic retreat where the Hudson Valley feels both cinematic and deeply lived-in. Just over an hour from New York City, our 1859 Gothic Victorian overlooks the Hudson River and surrounding mountains, with changing light, old trees and quiet corners that invite slowing down a little.
Here lies the landscape that inspired Mouth of the Moodna on the Hudson, a celebrated Hudson River School painting by David Johnson that captured the wild, luminous beauty that has drawn artists and wanderers to Cornwall-on-Hudson for generations. Come see it for yourself!
